What I Wore: Business Uptown, Cheer Practice Downtown

I always feel like I sort of hate how this skirt looks, but then I see it in pictures and it’s so pretty!

Vest from Ross
Skirt from the thrift store
Socks from Target
Shoes from Vans

What I Wore: Photoshoot

So, I totally didn’t realize that I have only one crappy full body shot of this outfit until right now. So I guess it’s just a study of my tired, adorable mug. OH WELL!

Necklace is a handmade gift from Ben’s mother (his whole family is adorable!)
Jacket is from Talbot’s via The Salvation Army (I know they’re bigots, but I used to steal from them in high school, so to make up for that I shop there now. Also, they seem to always have the best stuff. Hatred must attract cute clothes.)

What I Wore: Fire Engine

Whenever I try to be sexy, I end up looking like I have a developmental disability. In all of these pictures, I have a splitting headache. Most of them are of me taking my clothes off because I feel miserable and want to get into bed. Can anyone tell me why the sexiest pictures I’ve ever taken are of me in horrible pain? Oh well. The headache is gone now and I look amazing in these.

Okay, so maybe this one doesn’t look so great, but it’s the only one Ben got of the whole outfit before I started undressing.

What I Wore: Jumping Bean

I was so grateful that it warmed up a little bit today. Especially since I took some advice and cut the crotch out of a pair of tights in order to see if I could make that my non-UTI, winter warmth solution, but to no avail. I only got 4 hours into the day before I was in the bathroom at work taking them off. Then I hit my head on the toilet paper holder while I was tying my shoes in the stall, which was hot, and I’m sure a little awkward for anyone else in the restroom.

After I took these photos, I ended up sewing 2 petticoats, one that will likely go straight into the trash and another that will be the pattern for all future petticoats. Thanks to a generous stranger, I have yards and yards of wool sitting in my house, just waiting for a day like this to come along. So that’s what I’ll probably be doing for the next couple of weeks.

What I Wore: Army Green Zombie

Another cold day in LA. I’m really thinking about doing this petticoat thing. My friend also suggested cutting the crotches out of my tights and long johns and seeing if that’s not a good solution. Maybe I’ll try that tomorrow

What I Wore: I Hate Winter

I love this outfit, it was super comfy and super cute and I got a ton of compliments on it. It also happened that yesterday, the day I wore this, was one of the first days since the beginning of October that I didn’t feel like shit, I was almost afraid to be happy, I’ve had bronchitis this whole time and it’s finally letting up.

Positivity aside, I have to say that I hate winter. I love clothes, but I don’t really like the sensation of wearing clothes, especially wearing a lot of clothes. Tights (the universal girl solution to cold weather) irritate me and, if I wear them more than one day in a row, they give me a urinary tract infection. Because of this outfit, I realized that long johns also do this. Which is a shame, because I spent $60 on long johns thinking that I would be able to get around the UTI issue if the undergarment was baggier. No such luck.

So now I’m back where I started, leaving for Oregon in 3 weeks, with the same cold skirt collection that I always bring. And I refuse to wear pants because in addition to the UTI problem, they make me nauseous. Do any of you readers experience this problem? People who actually live in cold climates, guide me! Being a life-long Los Angeles resident has really not prepared me in any way for the cold. I’m actually thinking of making some winter petticoats for myself out of flannel. What do you guys think?

What I Wore: Holiday Lazy

So I’ve basically been wearing variations of this outfit since Friday, and it’s Sunday now. Don’t worry, except for Saturday, I was only outside (and therefore in clothes) for a couple of hours. So I guess I could classify this as my post-thanksgiving weekend outfit. I just couldn’t muster the energy to put together anything else.

Today Ben and I went to Pasadena to take my Grandma to lunch, and also to do some Christmas shopping. I know I was supposed to be buying things for other people, and I did (I swear) but I also had to get this adorable hat for myself because it was on sale and it was so cute and calling my name.

What I Wore: Beet Soup (back-up)

Surprise! This is a post I saved as draft for a day I wasn’t feeling it.

Marina’s Note: I have at least 3 outfits that I haven’t posted yet, and are going to be converted into back-up days. It’s not like I’m not taking outfit pictures, I am, but the process of putting them online is beyond me at the moment. Sorry guys.

What I Wore: Green Thumb

I had such a weirdly bad morning that randomly turned into a weirdly good day. But it was still a long day, and I’ve been sick/recovering all week, and I didn’t get home until after 10:30 and I was itching to get these clothes off. So if you don’t read pure joy in every single image in this post, understand that it’s not you, it’s me.
