What I Wore: Grumpy Old Gran

So this weekend was filled with lots and lots of activity. Grandma continues to be good. Ben and I went and visited her on Saturday. She was uncomfortable, and really tired. Every time she fell asleep, something beeped, or somebody came in and woke her up. I guess exhaustion makes my grandma a little bit xenophobic. Her nurse was a very nice older lady with an accent, and while she was explaining something to her, grandma turned to me and said “I don’t understand why they can’t get anybody who speaks English in this place.” I felt terrible for the poor nurse who was doing everything. I should have apologized when we left, but she looked busy, so I just thanked her. Lots of other stuff happened, this was a long weekend preceded by an even longer week. I had a lot of fun, but I’m actually a little glad to be going back to work.

I always feel like I sort of hate how this skirt looks, but then I see it in pictures and it’s so pretty!

What I Wore: Buttons and Baubles

I have a stain on my shirt, because I am a mess and I cannot control myself. I’ve actually been kind of down on myself lately for how incompetent I am at being even the slightest bit graceful or delicate. I am constantly slamming my hands and fingers in things, stubbing my toes, tripping over my own feet, spilling, catching and ripping my clothes and jewelry on everything available. Tonight while I was getting gas, I got my necklace stuck to the clasp on my wallet. Who does that?!

But I know what this means. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately and haven’t been getting enough sleep. As oafish as I usually am, when I’m this bad, it’s a clear sign that I need to slow down and take care of myself. So I’ll just put ‘self care’ on the long list of things I have to do right now.

What I Wore: Photoshoot

So, I totally didn’t realize that I have only one crappy full body shot of this outfit until right now. So I guess it’s just a study of my tired, adorable mug. OH WELL!

My Horizontal Lines

Ever since I rediscovered this shirt at the bottom of my laundry hamper, I’ve been totally in love with it. It’s so comfortable and soft and fits great. You’re probably going to be seeing a lot more of it in the future.

In a move completely uncharacteristic of me, I got my first mani-pedi this week. Not bad. I’m not sure if it’s worth the $35 plus tip I paid for it, but it was a fun experience. And my nails were pretty for awhile.

What I Wore: Plaids and Stripes

At long last, it looks like the What I Wore posts are coming back. It seems I only go in for this stuff in cold weather.

What I Wore: IKAT

My co-corker said the pattern on this skirt is called an ‘IKAT.’ I’ve never heard the term before.

I love a wrap-around skirt, but I am always too fat for them. But, I won’t let that stop me. I wore this wrap-around apron-style.

What I Wore: To Market

Lately I’ve been skimpy with the outfit posts. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because you guys have seen my whole wardrobe at this point, and there aren’t really any more combinations available. Or maybe it’s because I’m sinking into my new creative duties at work, and when I wake up in the morning or come home at night, I don’t feel like being creative since it’s something I do pretty much every day now. Or maybe this is just the down in the inevitable up and down process of my attention span.

Anyway, here are some pictures we took back in January at the Culver City Farmers Market.
