What I Wore: Black in Black

null

I’ve been wearing these Merrell shoes a lot lately. They’re the perfect work shoes, so comfortable and low-profile. I got them on sale at REI, and I always look on the sale rack for Merrells when I go there. I wish they weren’t so expensive. These are 100 bucks! I can’t pay that for slip ons!

This is the second outfit post in a row where I wore this dress. I really want it to be Spring. I mean, it is Spring, but it seems like I’m learning that Spring near the ocean means lots and lots of clouds, which is not what I think of as Spring. So I wear this dress and hope for flowers.

What I Wore: New Favorite Sweater

The shirt I wore with this skirt was a bad choice. I looked like a bed sheet. However, the sweater was amazing. It’s my new favorite sweater.

What I Wore: For Comfort, For Glory!

Those antibiotics are really working, but I’m still a few apples short of a fritter-not crazy, just lazy. So I wanted to wear something that was work appropriate (my office is very casual, as you probably already know) as well as being comfortable. So, I added the sometimes controversial (see here) under-tit belt to a soft old favorite t shirt over my touch-of-fancy eyelet lace skirt. Then, while I was at work my order from Sock Dreams arrived (I have all my online orders delivered to work) so I put on these Extraordinary Thigh Highs and completely rocked the rest of my day.

What I Wore: Holiday Lazy

So I’ve basically been wearing variations of this outfit since Friday, and it’s Sunday now. Don’t worry, except for Saturday, I was only outside (and therefore in clothes) for a couple of hours. So I guess I could classify this as my post-thanksgiving weekend outfit. I just couldn’t muster the energy to put together anything else.

Today Ben and I went to Pasadena to take my Grandma to lunch, and also to do some Christmas shopping. I know I was supposed to be buying things for other people, and I did (I swear) but I also had to get this adorable hat for myself because it was on sale and it was so cute and calling my name.

What I Wore: Neverending Scarf

If I don’t look as friendly as usual here it’s because it is the late end to a long and mostly stressful day. Today I worked on some design work, which is my absolute favorite thing right now. But I felt so buried by the avalanche of other things I had to get done that I let work I didn’t like go out just because I knew I didn’t have the time to do it right. And things that should have been done today are sitting in my hard drive unfinished because I didn’t have the heart to send it off. Nothing’s overdue, but my slowness is bothering me.

Neverending scarf knitted by me
Grey cable-knit sweater from Target
Maroon sweater vest from Target
Black T from The Gap
Pencil skirt by Style & Co. from Macy’s
Leg warmers from Target
Grey ankle socks from Target (in the dollar sock bin!)
Shoes are Merrells from R.E.I.

And speaking of The Gap, I know it’s been said everywhere on the Internet, but I hate their new logo! Their rep claims that this is a sign of a new beginning for them. Does that mean that they’re finally going to start carrying size 18 in the store? I figure if they let that uggo of a logo hang around, why not a fat fatty like myself?
