What I Wore: Sorry Actual Lesbians

This morning I’m pretty sure I became someone’s story about how young queers are doomed because we have no idea of our history or our circumstances. A guy in the elevator looked me up and down, decided that if I wasn’t a lesbian, I was probably at least on the good side of the issue, and started to talk to me about something Justice Ginsberg said about skim milk. Since this happened during one section of one day of a court case the ruling of which isn’t even expected until June at the earliest, I had no clue what he was talking about. Then he tried to tell me about the differences in legal arguments between the DOMA and Prop 8 cases, and just as my eyes started to glaze over, he said his goodbyes and moved on. So, my apologies to any actual lesbians, I confess I didn’t even know the names of the two ladies who’s inheritance tax issue brought DOMA to the court’s attention. In the future I will endeavor to be better at walking around with short hair.

What I Wore: Sassy in the Front

Yesterday was my Liveblog/Livestream of Die Hard 1. Counting myself, my boyfriend and everybody that joined us online, there were four people in attendance. No one stayed for the whole movie, not even me (pee break), but I had a great time and I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow.

What I Wore: Black in Black

null

I’ve been wearing these Merrell shoes a lot lately. They’re the perfect work shoes, so comfortable and low-profile. I got them on sale at REI, and I always look on the sale rack for Merrells when I go there. I wish they weren’t so expensive. These are 100 bucks! I can’t pay that for slip ons!

What I Wore: Second Verse

I’m pretty sure I’ve worn this or a version of this before. Oh well.

The photos where I’m showing my nails didn’t come out that great, and it’s a shame because they were this wonderful matte yellow that I was fairly proud of. I got it by combining Revlon Top Speed #305 Electric and Pop Nail Glam #33 de-glaze.

What I Wore: Photoshoot

So, I totally didn’t realize that I have only one crappy full body shot of this outfit until right now. So I guess it’s just a study of my tired, adorable mug. OH WELL!

What I Wore: Working Ghoul

I found this amazing Talbot’s jacket at the thrift store. It still had it’s original tags and spare buttons hanging off the sleeve, and thanks to a 50% off sale, it was only $8.00. I was in thrift store heaven. I bought 3 jackets that day, all incredible deals.

My Horizontal Lines

Ever since I rediscovered this shirt at the bottom of my laundry hamper, I’ve been totally in love with it. It’s so comfortable and soft and fits great. You’re probably going to be seeing a lot more of it in the future.

In a move completely uncharacteristic of me, I got my first mani-pedi this week. Not bad. I’m not sure if it’s worth the $35 plus tip I paid for it, but it was a fun experience. And my nails were pretty for awhile.
