Our Phantom Twins

Yesterday I teased the story of Ben and my phantom twin couple. What we know about them is this: They have a lot of common interests, they look basically exactly like us, and their names are also Ben and Marina, or at least similar enough that people don’t notice a difference. From time to time, they show up before us somewhere, prompting people to say things like “Oh, you’re back. So soon!” when we enter a shop we’ve never been in before.

One time, this freaked a bead store employee out so badly she claimed it was a sign of the end times. On the one hand, that may have been more of a personal issue than a twin sighting. On the other hand, that bead store is now closed. So I supposed you could interpret her omen as accurate, but only within the bounds of the bead store itself.

Anyway, today’s post is a short one. We have tons to do to get ready to leave for Oregon at exactly 8pm tonight (Tuesday). We will be driving overnight most of the way in order avoid traffic, and also so that the parts of the journey that have the most potential for icy conditions will come at the brightest, warmest part of the day. I plan to be tweeting and facebooking the whole time, so check my accounts for up to the minute road trip realness.

Ben and I try on the same hat (for children) at Sprouts.

Oh, and if you see a couple of fatties that look like us guys, maybe go by Ken and Serena, detain those motherfuckers until we get there. Because they seem like they may be fun.

Aw crap, it’s Dec. 31st and I’m sitting here adding this to all my posts because I said I’d have it here until the end of the year and I didn’t. I suck I know. Still, support Planned Parenthood because they’re amazing and the things they do are awesome.
