The other day an older lady tried to get my attention about something while I was listening to an audiobook, so I took one earbud out and said “what dear?” because that’s how I always respond when Ben tries to get my attention while I’m listening to an audiobook, and he’s usually the only other person I interact with during the day. She wasn’t too happy about having a 30 year old call her dear, I can say that much.
